About Me

When I was 6 years old I lost my right ear to Meningitis. As a teen and young adult I was always on a quest for better hearing. With only one ear that was slowly getting progressively worse and my hearing hearing aid no longer helping I looked at my future as being deaf. That was not acceptable to me. In 2014 I started to do research on cochlear implants. Wow, I can't believe I waited this long. I was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I had a long career in industrial food distribution sales and Executive Management. I love to do anything in the outdoors, travelling, helping others, my hobby collecting rare silver/gold coins, and banknotes. And of couse spending time with my family

Mentor Information

My favorite thing about my AB Cochlear implant is
Everything it does to help me succeed!
With my AB cochlear implant, I can
Do almost anything a normal hearing person can do with very little limitations.
My favorite sound is
All the sounds of the great outdoors
I chose AB because
I did lots of research and I found Advanced Bionics to be the most progressive. Long term upgradeability, ease of use with the accessories they have. And the T-MIC is outstanding. The Hearing journey website is like belonging to a great family. You can find most anything you want to know about a AB CI and meet some really great people.
I am a BEA Mentor because
I feel blessed to be able to hear and I want to share my story and help those wanting help on their journey to better hearing SUCCEED.
I can help cochlear implant candidates by
Listening, answering questions, give personal accounts of my journey to being implanted with Advanced Bionics.
