About Me

I'm a Mum of two boys, Archie aged four and Harry one. Archie contracted meningitis shortly after he was born and lost his hearing. He now uses a hearing aid and AB cochlear implant and you would never know he was deaf.

My favorite thing about my AB Cochlear implant is
Archie can wear it off his ear and in water using the Aqua case.
With my AB cochlear implant, I can
Get wet. Archie loves the water so it is great that he can hear in these situations.
I chose AB because
Archie can wear it off his ear. When he first had it he was only one so his ears were so little. Having it clipped to his top ment he wore it all day without it falling or being pulled off.
I am a BEA Mentor because
I found it really helpful to talk to other people in the same situation. I'd like to help others in a similar situation.
I can help cochlear implant candidates by
Showing what a success Archie is with his implant. It's daunting when you find out you child is deaf but it doesn't mean they cannot be like any other child.
