About Me

Hi I'm Manda. Early 30's I'm based in Manchester, UK and I am a mentor for people who are interested in using accessories such as Aquacase, Roger Pen, Compilot and many more. I love to travel and see a bit of the world. I'm lucky to be able to do this as my job as a photographer and I often go alone and explore. There is no limit in what I can do now that I have AB Cochlear implant. Just fab having this much freedom.

Mentor Information

My favorite thing about my AB Cochlear implant is
I love the Ultrazoom very much as it help me focus on who I want to hear in front of me especially in a noisy pub. Who would want to hear the people behind you?
With my AB cochlear implant, I can
have telephone job interview and get that job. I never thought I could do this! I could go swimming with Aquacase, listen to music, movies and go to conference with roger pen wireless
My favorite sound is
A tough one! I have so many! Only recently I was sitting at the table with a friend and a song came on. I grabbed my friend to the dance floor and sing along to it. To think before having a cochlear implant I used to sit out and not knowing what was playing.
I chose AB because
AB have many fantastic features especially software that can be upgrade any time in the future. The hardware was bulky when I first received Harmony and now it have become much smaller. As a geek, I knew for fact that the technology will improve in time now that AB & Phonak are working together.
I am a BEA Mentor because
Being a mentor is all about sharing what we achieved and what we can do to overcome any barriers. We can hold hands and support each others to reach that dream. Let’s make it happen.
I can help cochlear implant candidates by
guiding them to prepare life with cochlear implant will always be challenging to cope through our every day life. I can talk about accessories we use with our cochlear implant either by meeting face to face or through my blog http://www.Icihearyou.com
