About Me

I began to lose my hearing in high school. After wearing hearing aids for 30 years I was able to dare to dream again and those dreams came true!! My CI has given me many "wow" moments and they are still coming!

Mentor Information

My favorite thing about my AB Cochlear implant is
that I can now "understand" and not just "hear" so easily now! I also really love listening to music via bluetooth.
With my AB cochlear implant, I can
*understand all passengers in the car *go to the movies *understand people without reading lips *talk easily on the phone *listen to music again and even understand the lyrics *live life without constantly saying, "What?"
My favorite sound is
my cat purring.
I chose AB because
the technology is superior. I didn't want to get left behind without outdated technology.
I am a BEA Mentor because
I am extremely grateful for this gift. It gives me great satisfaction to be able to help people. I know all of the questions I had and was thankful for the people that helped me along my journey. Now it's my turn to do the same for others.
I can help cochlear implant candidates by
turning people from being anxious and nervous to being excited! I will give you a realistic picture of what to expect and what you can do to make this a successful experience.
