It's been a beautiful autumnal day today, kicking leaves in the park.

About Me

I'm mother to 6 children, 4 dogs and three cats. Now I live in Bonny Scotland but I was implanted in 1997 at St. Thomas' hospital in London.

Mentor Information

My favorite thing about my AB Cochlear implant is
Listening to music, hearing my children grow up and singing.
With my AB cochlear implant, I can
Have a conversation in the car while I'm driving, enjoy concerts and chat with all of my children at the dinner table.
My favorite sound is
Walking through autumn leaves, my dogs barking and children laughing and playing.
I chose AB because
When I was researching cochlear implants back in 1996, AB came out as consistently ahead of their competitors in R&D, in their forward looking outlook and reliability. My CI is now 18 years old and still functioning.
I am a BEA Mentor because
I wanted to give back some of the help and support I had from the "message boards" and show prospective candidates just how far the technology has come in 20 years.
I can help cochlear implant candidates by
Sharing my experiences and answering questions honestly and promptly.
