@Warrior - Carol. I am Warrior (Michael Hartmann) here on Hearing Journey. I have just signed the AB contract to become the Knoxville Tennessee area BEA Chapter Leader. This is all new to me so I am asking for any help you could offer me in getting this chapter off the ground and some explanation on how you go about setting up meetings and good resources for topics to talk about at these meeting. Thank you in advance Mike Hartmann Hello Michael! I hope you are enjoying your new gig! You have some great people in the K-Ville area, so, you will have good company. Our small SC Chapter of the BEA is slowly growing, 1 at a time. Our area Rep is helpful with coordinating with the local CI Audies to spread the AB info. The events that we have are state wide, SC only has 3 CI Centers. The largest is here in Charleston. Your BEA events could be planned around a fun activity or location - parks, picnics, perhaps a quiet meeting room at a library, Senior Center, or even a church. Where ever you can find the space to use. Free food is always a good thing! Let me know how it is going for you Carol
I love to travel, love to be active, I'm socially involved and happy to be exactly where I am. Losing my hearing was the worst -- but look where it lead me! My silver lining is right here

My favorite thing about my AB Cochlear implant is
the total package of miraculous hearing
With my AB cochlear implant, I can
I can hear everything that I had been missing -- birds, music, family and friends on my cell, meal time discussions around the table...
My favorite sound is
Bird song -- I never tire of it
I chose AB because
AB has the best tech on the inside -- where it really counts
I am a BEA Mentor because
Giving it back is the gift that keeps on giving
I can help cochlear implant candidates by
Sharing my own experience as a late deafened adult, offering support, information, getting people involved with the forums and connecting with others
