- Implanted AgeMiddle-aged AdultHearing LossSlowly ProgressiveImplantedBothMy hearing loss was found in the 4th grade while in public school. By the time I was a Senior, I got my first hearing aid. My loss was slowly progressive and I had even given up on hearing aids for almost 5 years when I got my first cochlear implant in August of 1997. I went bilateral in November of 2008 and couldn't believe the difference. Today I spend a great deal of time mentoring and advocating for others with hearing loss in my community and participate in multiple volunteer activities.
- Implanted AgeOlder AdultHearing LossSlowly ProgressiveImplantedRightI 'm the husband of Sue, an AB Naida CI recipient. Until I met her I had never experienced life with a deaf person and it was an interesting learning curve! My hobbies are watching Rugby, playing badminton and travelling around in our Motorhome. I live in Leicestershire.
