Mentor Information

My favorite thing about my AB Cochlear implant is
It has given my profoundly deaf child the ability to listen and speak beautifully. Most people don't realize that she is deaf!
With my AB cochlear implant, I can
My daughter can attend a mainstream school, take dance classes, play sports or anything she sets her mind to.
My favorite sound is
listening to music on her ipod.
I chose AB because
I loved the fact that the equipment was very user friendly and the technology was advanced. We can easily upgrade hardware and software as it becomes available. Lastly, I must admit that I loved the idea of my daughter having a "bionic ear".
I am a BEA Mentor because
I want to share my daughter's success story and help give hope to prospective families or recipients. Speaking to other recipients and families and seeing successful kids with CIs was so helpful to me when we started the CI process. I have learned so much over the past 8 years, through mentoring, I can share that knowledge with others.
I can help cochlear implant candidates by
Sharing not only my daughter's succes story but all of the knowledge we gained over the past 8 years.
